Every feel overcharged? Wondering if your doctor’s office is charging your the same as everyone else? Or are you getting bilked when you want your medical records.
Here is a great site that lists all of the medical record charges by state. I have previously written about what it costs to get your records in Colorado. Colorado’s regulation is contained in 6 C.C.R. 1011-1, Chapter 2, Part 220.127.116.11
If you think that’s too high, keep in mind that states like Ohio has a special provision (ORC 3701.741 (C)(1)(e)) that lets patients and their representatives to get one copy of their medical records for free in Social Security cases.
